This is the story of how I met John Green.
I was walking through the vendor room, minding my own business- and mind you, my bag was full to the brim, not only because I had purchased many things from the vendor room, but also because I had been carrying around my complete set of John’s collective works hoping to run into him- when all of a sudden I see a familiar face sitting at the DFTBA table.
Yes, John was sitting there and he was signing posters in a true and speedy fashion. So, of course, I awkwardly walk up to the table, arms laden with the books I had just managed to pull out of my bag as well as all of the things I had just come out of the Starkid signing with, which happened to include a brilliant silver sharpie.
Just as I approach the table, John tells the person behind him that he needs a silver sharpie. LO AND BEHOLD WHAT DO I HAVE IN MY HAND?! A SILVER SHARPIE. So, of course, I awkwardly say, “I have a silver sharpie…” as I hold it out to him. He offers me five dollars for it. I push him my stack of books. This picture is representative of our symbiotic relationship. We were in awe that life worked out so well. He needed my marker and I needed his signature. And so now I have a complete set of signed and personalized John Green novels!
oh man, lindsay, katy, and i are gonna be in the background of so many leaky pictures. this was a really cute and good moment! hooray for silver sharpies and bartering!
I want to see some where we successfully photo bombed with just Pizza John’s face and not our own. I loved this moment too :)
